Memorial website in the memory of your loved one
This memorial website was created in the memory of our precious brother, son and father, Michael James Kennedy. He was born in Northridge, California on March 28, 1962. He passed away on December 4, 2004 in San Jose, California at his home, at the age of 42.

Mike always loved the outdoors! He loved snow skiing, boating, and he loved to fish! He was an awesome chef! He loved being in the kitchen cooking for his family and friends....He loved to entertain in his beautiful home!

Wherever Mike was or whom he was with, he always had a great time. He kept everyone smiling and laughing. He knew how to have fun and he lived life to the fullest. He always looked at his life in a positive, loving and a nuturing way.

Mike was an active member of AA for over 4 years. He remained sober until the very end of his life... He saved many lives through this program and with his generosity of his heart always wanting to help someone! He always opened his home to everyone that new him. He was a true friend that so many trusted and miss~

Mike was also a wonderful father. He loved his two sons, Nick and Chad more than anything.... Nick is now 16 years old. He was only 12 when Mike passed away. Chad was only one month old when God took him. Chad was adopted by Karen and Lane Lasrich (Mikes sister in Utah) almost three years ago. He will be 4 years old, November 2, 2007. He is missed more than words can say, but he will stay in our hearts forever and ever......until we meet again.

Mike died from "Methadone intoxication." His death was not from an overdose. Mike was not a heroin addict. This newly prescribed pain medication is now being prescribed more often to people with chronic pain. One to two doses of methadone killed him... He was prescripbed this medication for his back pain Dec. 3, 2004 and died less than 24 hours after taking this lethal medication. Mike had also taken an over the counter cold medication before he went to sleep because of a nasty cold Thera flu. We now know that taking other medications (combinations) have proven fatal. As our sweet Mike!

Some of innocent victims had taken their
neccesary prescriptions, such as; some supplements, anti depressants, anti-anxiety meds, sleeping medications and numerous lost their lives.
Everyone metabolizes methadone diferently.
What's more disturbing is some patients had taken their prescribed methadone exactly as directed and still lost their lives!

                        ..........ONE PILL CAN KILL......

Our precious Mike's death is one more unintentional life taken~ 5,000 innocent lives were taken in 2006 due to methadone and rising...10.9 of our loved ones are dying every day!  Methadone is now the #2 drug killer nationwide and soon to be #1 killer if something isn't done immediately!

Together, we hope to make a differnce and help educate our doctors, our communities, but especially the patients taking this pain medication. Please, help protect friends and your loved ones from this deadly medication~
